Durham will spend $1.1 billion on transit by 2040. Here’s where that money will go.

TLDR
Under the revised transit plan, about 73% of that money will go toward making buses more convenient and easier to use, while 27% is devoted to Durham’s share of a potential regional commuter-rail system.

I love the fact that our outrageously productive and under funded bus system is getting a much needed boost to funding. I hate how it appears the city is giving up on any local rail projects outside of the commuter rail.

I know GoTriangle appears incapable of implementing a light rail system, but it feels like we are throwing the baby out with the bath water. I wish we learned from our failure and not just give up for the next two decades.
