I don’t know the specifics but it looks like there are actually two projects right there. The one you mentioned and then a small multi family building on that weird corner lot that’s described as 25 units with ground floor commercial. There was some discussion of that project previously (
here) but I assumed it never ended up going anywhere. Still seems like it would be a challenge to fit on that small parcel but assume it has been vetted to some extent.
Anyway I think it would be good to have some higher density infill housing around Brightleaf and hopefully that contributes a bit to the general activity level there. Also noticed that they repainted the old St James building which I thought was curious. Could just be for the aesthetics but wouldn’t be surprised if they end up pausing the redevelopment plans for now and refreshing the building to lease out in the near term.
