Novel University Hill

Crescent Communities out of Charlotte has plans for a 420 unit apartment building for the vacant site off Durham-Chapel Hill Boulevard in front of/below University Hill. The link below has a limited amount of high level info. Would be great to get this site developed as it’s completely wasted space and pretty unsightly at that.

They are voting on whether to move forward with a development agreement, according to this report. They have added density in exchange for affordable housing at the Carver St assemblage: "291 additional units above the allowed density of 109." They will also be responsible for upgrading a number of sidewalks and one bus stop in the area.

This got approved. Haven’t seen any renderings but it will be great to fill that site. Just a huge, awful looking vacant property.
