Erwin Terrence Construction

Does anyone know what the construction is for next to Erwin Terrace?

Area is fenced off.  Looks like they dug down some and below was a cement truck and other construction vehicles.

If I recall correctly, I thought they wanted to expand at some point. But that would have been several years ago.

Interesting - for that parcel, the only permits/cases I see are:

- 10.89 sq ft wall sign for naanstop indian restaurant

- To install 1 wall sign and connect to existing power

- Davidson and Jones has put a construction trailer up we are putting a temp power pole up building permit TUP19032

- SUITE 208 - TENANT ALTERATION

That Davidson and Jones temp power pole is probably related to what you are talking about. But I don't see what that could be in service of.

Thanks for finding the Davidson and Jones name.  Looks like an AC Marriot Hotel, per their website.  Address seems to be LaSalle St, part of the reason I had trouble finding it. I was looking at Erwin.

It seems really odd that the parcel doesn't have any development listed on maps.durhamnc.gov though. I wonder why that is.

Interesting about the hotel there. I came across this rendering a while back that seems to be the same location. Not sure when it was proposed though so may have been a previous iteration before the hotel...

Very interesting - the current city permits confirm that the project is a hotel, but I wonder what the story with this proposed development was and how it fit in.
